Metis Talent Management brand new website goes live

Last fortnight was a joy, as we came to the launch of Metis Talent Management's website. Metis is a Singapore based organisation that advises clients on Talent Management with a primary focus on Talent Development and Organisation Design. Best wishes to team Metis!

The other great thing is how folks at Metis approached this by going in for a full overhaul, including getting a new logo and brand colours. Do leave your comments on what you feel about the website and the logo!!

Microsoft sending out Office 2007 trial invites, not honoring them

As a registrant to a Microsoft programme coming February, I have been receiving mails inviting me to for a 60 day trial of MS Office 2007. MS has been generously sending me such invitations since Jan 20, the day I probably registered for the conference. These mails are sent on behalf of Romi Mahajan, Microsoft IT Pro Marketing.

So far so good, except that the download does not work! I have been trying it to do a download since the day I received Microsoft's so generous mail to few moments back only to receive the following message.
Incidentally, Microsoft was mailing out trial CDs of MS Office 2007 through its website and I did receive one recently. So what stopped me from installing? Well, the limitation of 25 trials(or 60 days max) was too much of a risk to be taken on a machine that is used predominantly by my wife. So why I am trying now? To see if the mail trial offer is more generous.

But here's the best part. If you wish to notify Microsoft, this is what you notice in the mail.

This essentially means that if you reply to the mail, it would not reach Romi Mahajan, but that you would simply be unsubscribe from Microsoft's mailing list. Have fun!!

The newspapers, television and radio are screaming- Indian Space Programme goes commercial and likes. Indeed, after decades of research, our scientists are all set to do a commercial launch- a 309 kg Italian satellite would be lobbed into a polar orbit this afternoon on board a PSLV rocket. This is a low orbit satellite would find its position somewhere 300 kms above the ground and orbit earth every 90 minutes or so. Adsense Marrying Indian Railways Ticket - Cool Idea!

Ever since I read Wikinomics and Naked Conversations, weird ideas come visiting my head sometimes. When I was waiting for a train at Ernakulam Railway Station, I was watching a fellow passenger looking at his ticket. Came an idea, how cool it would be, if all train tickets stationary have a dynamic ad printing logic like Adsense, which would analyse the to and fro location and the demographic information already available on the ticket. For instance, a train ticket for Ooty purchased by two students in Chennai would print ads of suggested locations of tourist interest in Ooty. A train ticket of a couple heading for Varanasi, would print ads of Saree Shops in Varanasi, and for a very old couple carry ads of easy to locate Hotels near Sankatmochan temple. This, rather than the standard ads that come on the ticket stationary.
